Molding

A cast allows, for example, to reproduce a sculpture. For instance, in the casting room of the University of Geneva, almost all the statues are reproductions.

This project helps to understand the different stages of the molding process.

Depending on the technique, the mold is broken to extract the mold or can be reused. In the case of this project, the mold is broken.

It is advisable to mold small objects. Here we mould a thumb, but it is also possible to choose another model.
